Hello! I was wondering if you're available for commission? Are there any other platforms I can contact you on?
Hihi! Yes I am! You can find me on VGen! https://vgen.co/ErisEsra Just send me a message, and Id love to talk!
Omgg thankss it help us a lot!
Im so happy it does!
These are amazing and thank you for making it free! Please add rolling/dodging
Ooo! I plan to add blocking, but never considered a barrel roll! XD What a fun idea!
both would be awesome
Thanks a lot!!!! :)
No, thank you!
I'm horrible at drawing so hopefully I can find some assets that look good with these, or they're gonn walk around in a little block world
XD I do hope you're able to find something similar!
This is genuinely incredible. I've been wanting a template character I can use while I build my game with various future designs in mind. This is perfect for this. Thank you!
Im so glad to hear it, thank you!⭐Best of luck with your game!
Hey! I really love what you’re doing, and you’ve done a great job with the asset pack.
I’m currently working on a commercial Godot asset pack that includes player animations, tilemaps, Godot scripts, and a ready-to-use player setup. The player art is completely redrawn in a different style, and I’ve added and modified some of the animations while using your animations as a starting point for the player movement.
I saw your license says the assets can be used in commercial projects, but asks that they not be directly resold. I wanted to reach out because I’d like to include my modified player animations in this asset pack rather than just using them in a game.
I’d be happy to give you and your original project a shout-out on the itch.io page and include credit.
I definitely don’t want to step on your toes or do anything you’re uncomfortable with, so I wanted to ask you directly: would you be okay with me selling the modified animations as part of this larger asset pack?
Thanks!
Hello! Thank you reaching out, and asking! Just so I've got the full picture, it sounds like you're making a sellable Godot template project?
that’s the goal at least here’s the asset pack page https://kenneth-middle.itch.io/test-chamber-16x16-tile-map
Oh! Gotcha, thank you for the clarification! Your project looks great so far!
Thank you so much for getting back to me. Keep up the good work
👋 thank you so much! 😀
Thank you for enjoying it! I hope you get some use out of them!
thank you so much this is extremely helpful
Thank you!⭐Im glad to hear it's such!
Thanks for yout great contribution!
Of course! Thank you for enjoying!
Ohh prettyy
Thank you!⭐
Wahhhh thank you so much- I lowkey need this for a personal project, and yes you will be credited! I will show it to you if I ever really do it and give you a copy of the game trusttt-
Oh! Thank you! And Id love to see it if you ever do decide to share! Best of luck!⭐
Thank you so much for sharing this adorable character template!
I'm using it as the base for the avatars in a small promotional web game for our brand, and it's been such a huge help. Really appreciate your amazing work ! 🍀🩵
So happy to hear it!⭐The whole purpose of the project was giving people a place to get started, so I'm glad to hear it's being put to good use! Thank you, and best of luck with your project!
I love you!
My game is definitely going to blow up!!!
Best of luck!⭐
amazing sprites!! I've been using them in this game I've been working on for a while, at first I was just using them as a placeholder, but they look really nice in game, made an itch.io account to thank you for making them
Thank you! Im glad to hear they're getting their use, and have been helping a bunch! Best of luck with your project!⭐
It seems like the cells are 24x24. I'm really struggling to figure out how to make it *actually* 16x16. Am I crazy? 😅
Okay I've figured it out I think: you have padding of 4 px on either side of each cell, making it always 24 wide, not 16. And while the character is 16 tall, when it runs for example it reaches up to 19... which is also not 16.
So the 16 set is not a 16x16 spritesheet, because the cells are not all 16x16. I think?
Which is a shame--I like the style. It's just not usable if you want to use a 16x16 spritesheet.
Hello! Yes, the cells are 24x24! This is to account for some of the animations where the character needs more space! For example, the jumping and punching animations! The character itself is, however, 16x16! I noticed the animations tended to feel stagnant/warped if I kept it in 16x16, so I took inspiration from older games to make sure the sprite stayed a consistent 16x16 size!
Thank you for the feedback!⭐And, do let me know if you have any suggestions!
This is a really standard format and makes for the best visuals. I don't think you'd like the style if the frames were squeezed into such confining boxes.
I think you're fundamentally misunderstanding what 16x16 is/means. It means the character is 16x16 and will be consistently sized in a 16x16 world. however, because the animations move, they will sometimes exit their 16x16 dimensions, thats why there is a border around each sprite of empty space. They are still perfectly usable in a 16x16 game.
Babe wake up an update just dropped
T-T That's so sweet, thank you! I hope you enjoy!⭐
Is there any way to increase the size of the base without losing quality? I'm creating a game and I want to use this base, but the design is a bit "large" on the sides and I'm having trouble with that. Also, I don't know how to use Aseprite very well...
You should be able to change the size using Aseprite's top bar. As long as you keep the percentage as a multiple of 100, you should be able to scale it!

This is a great asset, I am going to use it for an animation. 'U'
Thank you!⭐Best of luck!
Hi, this is so cool asset, thank you a lot :)
Hihi! Thank you!⭐
hi, I've downloaded it and have been using it for my game but i cant seem to find a walk cycle facing left for the 16x16? im not sure if im being blind but i cant see it anywhere :')
Hello! Thanks for downloading!⭐You're not blind XD No worries! For the opposite directions, you'll need to flip the sprite! That's why they're labeled, "Down-Side" or "Side" instead of "Down-Left" or "Left Side"!
Hey thank you! this is the game I created with your asset. https://www.pixelfork.ai/publish/49273d05-e314-4175-af09-1b93f93cf9f5
Oh! How cute!⭐Thank you just as much for using the template!
hiiii, wondering if you have an ETA for the other animations?
Hihi! Next on the to-do list is an attack and death animation! I plan to start on them during the second quarter of the year!
IS there a way i can pay for a commission to have them sped up? I don't want a unique character, just want to push some of the animations forward
Oh! Ive never considered that idea! Thank you for asking, I put a goal up on Ko-fi!⭐
https://ko-fi.com/erisesra/goal?g=0
Development for the pack takes a good chunk of time, so reaching this goal would allow me to spend dedicated time working on it more!
Amazing! I've put the money towards the goal, thanks for your hard work! love your pack and cant wait to see the new animation!
My goodness! Thank you! This goes a long way, I appreciate the aid! I hope the animations will be well worth the wait!
Hi there! First of all, thank you so much for sharing your work; the art looks amazing, and it's a great contribution being free.
I’m writing just as a suggestion to make it even easier to use in game engines:
Organization: It would be very helpful if the spritesheet had a fixed horizontal order, where each row corresponds to a different animation (for example, row 1 for 'walk', row 2 for 'jump', etc.). This makes slicing the frames much easier.
Space Optimization: There's no need to export frames for both sides (left and right) or opposite diagonals. In game development, we usually use just one side and apply a "flip" through code. By removing these duplicate frames, the file size will be smaller and more efficient.
Thanks again for your effort and for sharing your talent!
Hihi! Thank you for using the sprite, and thank you even more for the tips! I'm still a beginner when it comes to both gamedev and pixelart, so this info is useful!
Organization: I've considered this! And I hope to find a way to do it on the sheet! An issue Ive run into is that because some animations have more frames than others, the export gets confused about sheet width. When the next update rolls around, Ill certainly put this as a priority, and if I can't find an automatic solution, Ill edit the sheets manually!
Space Optimization: This is already added! The directions are: Up, Down-Side, Side, Up-Side, and Up. When I first made the template, I realized how bloated the sheets became with left-vs-right! Im happy to hear it was the right move!
⭐Given that the template is community based, I'm always grateful for feedback! The goal is to make it easy to use/implement, so Ill definitely be taking notes from your words! Thank you again!
Oh, very good.
Yes, the point is to position the canvas at the necessary size to fit all the frames of the longest animation.
For example, if your tiles are 16x32, and the longest animation has 12 frames, then I would make the canvas 190 px Although other animations may have fewer frames, it's a basic way, because there are other ways but you can start there.
By the way, the Sprite Sheet doesn't have the logic you indicated; it has a very strange logic.
That makes sense to make it the largest width! As for the sheet logic, would you mind elaborating? Ill be sure to take a look at it!
Each row should represent a different action (e.g., Row 1 = Walk, Row 2 = Jump, Row 3 = Attack).
Each column represents the next frame in that animation.
Although modern motors are more flexible, the professional standard is that the total canvas size should be a power of 2 (e.g., 256/256, 512/512, 1024/1024).
By the way, I'd like to talk to you privately, I tried through Instagram but it won't let me.
To collaborate:
https://gamecollab.site/users/GhostHive
Ive seen as such! With1 row = 1 action! I never knew about the canvas size though, how interesting!
My apologies for not writing back sooner, I didn't get the notification! Thank you for taking the time to explain! As for private talking, you can either reach out to me via:
I thank you so very much, your free sprite sheet really helped in testing this custom node I am making for HD-2D games in Godot. The animations in the sheet also made it very fun during development as well and once I start making money from my games, I will definitely donate to you.
Im happy to hear you found these useful!⭐Thank you for taking the time to comment! The goal of the template is to help people start, and make the experience fun, so it's always a joy to to know it's doing its job!
Hey. Hope you're doing well. A few months back, I made this:
I have been working on using the template to assist in drawing characters which isnt done, but planning on doing it this current game jam (so making interchangeable hair, and customization system, etc.)I basically joined in the brackeys game jam and was looking for more pixel artists, as we're low on artists.
Can I just say, I love the template and genuinely appreciate a free product like this out there. Currently I'm broke but someday I do hope to donate so that artists get the love (and money) that they deserve.
p.s. if anyone is interested in making the ARPG a reality, let me know.
Wow! I could have never imagined seeing them in 3D T-T This is lovely, ty! Congrats on getting started, and I wish you luck in gamedev!
Hey there, I just downloaded this. Can't wait to try it out. Wondering what order you are planning to knock out the future features in? Do those need commissioned? I'm extra interested in... well, all of them, with the addition of some other 'skills' like smithing, sewing a hunk o' leather, etc.
For the attacks -- are you expecting to do just punches n' kicks, or swords and bows n such too?
I'm working on a game that's set in the 19th century. Would you be open to a "shoots muzzleloader" action? hahaha.
Thank you so much for the asset pack, I hope the donation buys a couple cups of coffee or a hot ham sammie.
Hihi! I hope you enjoy it! Next on the list I hope to add attack and death animations!⭐You most certainly can commission! https://vgen.co/ErisEsra The template pack is a passion project I work on when I have the time to spare! I'm grateful the donations have allowed me to allocate more time on it, coffees are lovely to have while drawing!
As for the attack animations, they'll likely be punches, although I have been studying sword animations recently! Bow animations sounds like a nice addition too! The next update will likely come out during Q2 of the year!
Best of luck with your game! It's a genre Ive never come across before, so I'm not familiar with it! If there's a project you'd like to commission me for, you can either contact me through my vgen, or via email!
eris0.0esra@gmail.com
Thank you for your inquiry, and the well wishes!⭐
It's perfect and will save me so much time to get started with my idea :D
It's really great when people make effort to release something like this for free for everyone.
Thank you! Im happy to hear it!⭐Its always a delight to hear these guys will get some use, that's payment enough for making them, good luck with your idea!
Hey, I have contributed another tilemap that includes a player character built upon your template. You are fully credited and linked on the landing page! If you want to check it out 💛: https://sebbyspoons.itch.io/pocket-forest
How cute!
Can you do a hair pack next? :D I saw your stream on drawing hair!
Maybe further down the line I could! The main purpose of this template was based around animations! So, once they're all done, that could be fun to do!⭐Im happy to hear you saw the stream! ^^
Awesome base! I used these for 3 of my sprites in my game for the Chili Code Jam #4! https://itch.io/jam/-chili-code-jam-4/rate/4156612
Thank you!⭐It's always a delight to see them used in projects, and I love a good farm sim, so Ill be sure to check it out! Best of luck with winning the jam!
hello! i want to use these in a game but i need a bit help; if i wanted the sprites to be clear, what size should my resolution be in landscape?
thank you in advance!! <33
Hihi! I unfortunately don't have an answer to that question as resolution's something Im still trying to understand myself! I use Godot and use a zoom function! The best recommendation I can give is to keep the character at 100% scale!
im really confused by your perspectives in the sample images. they have no bottoms to their feet? so they just evaporate into the ground or..?
Hihi! Great question! It's a stylistic choice! When I draw objects that exists in the world, I dont draw the outline on the bottom of them! If this isn't your preference, by all means, feel free to modify them to suit your needs!
It looks great! just wasn't sure if it was meant to look like that for marketing or something :D
Oh! Thank you! And thank you for pointing it out just encase it was something I overlooked too XD
It's just a prototype so far but I used this for a jam project, thank you so much for sharing !
https://demyr.itch.io/absent-ship
Ill be curious to see the final piece! Thank you for sharing, and Im glad the template's been a big help!⭐Best of luck with finishing before the end of the jam!
I’m making a Norse mythology rpg with these sprites, so COOL!!
Ooo! Im a sucker for mythology! Good luck with your project, and feel free to share here once its done!⭐
Thank you! One of the best free character templates, cant wait for the upcoming animations :)
Thank you to you too! T-T It's always nice to hear, so appreciate it! I hope the updates are worth the wait!
hey, me again, I have published my asset pack with your character template used to make the character . Thanks again .
You can check it out here https://sebbyspoons.itch.io/pocket-dungeon
It's lovely to see it all come together! Congrats on the release!
This is very nice! I enjoy the template’s style. I’m using it in a project of mine, and it fits perfectly! Thanks so much!!!
Thank you! Happy to hear it's helpful!⭐Best of luck with your project! Please feel free to share once it's done!
Hi. I still hadn't tried it out, but your art is amazing, and I really enjoy this idea of templating. I'll try to use it in a personal project for my ricing. THANK YOU A LOT FOR THIS !!!
Hello hello!⭐Thank you, and I hope that you enjoy it once you get a chance to use it! If possible, Id love it if you tagged me if you do!
